Original post from March 9, 2023:

We have an important update to share with our Stoughton Public Schools community in regards to the position of Superintendent of Schools:

As you may be aware, the School Committee voted to accept the resignation of current Superintendent of Schools Dr. Thomas Raab at the February 28, 2023 meeting. Dr. Raab will continue serving as Superintendent for the remainder of this school year, with his resignation effective June 30, 2023. With the District looking to fill several key vacancies for next school year, including special education director, business manager, and middle school principal, in addition to Superintendent of Schools, the School Committee reached out to an experienced Superintendent to explore the possibility of becoming our next Superintendent of Schools, in the effort to add stability to District leadership for next school year.

As part of this search process, the School Committee will be meeting on Monday, March 13, 2023 to conduct a public interview with Dr. Joseph F. Baeta, a candidate for the position of Superintendent of the Stoughton Public Schools. The meeting will start at 7pm in the School Committee Conference Room at the District Office, 31 Pierce St.

Dr. Baeta, a Stoughton resident and graduate of Stoughton High School, has been the Superintendent of the Norton Public Schools since 2013. Prior to that, he served as Superintendent of Schools in Holbrook and has experience as a principal, curriculum coordinator, and teacher, in addition to years of service on various committees in town.
